The Verizon Business 2009 Data Breach Investigations Report, based on data analyzed from actual computer crime cases investigated by Verizon Business technical teams -- comprising 285 million compromised records from 90 confirmed breaches -- revealed that corporations fell victim to some of the largest cybercrimes ever during 2008. Building upon findings from the previous year's Data Breach Investigations Report, this talk will share new analysis and findings from real-world security incidents that took place in 2008. Topics covered will include the latest trends in hacking, common management errors, and new threats targeting public and private-sector organizations. You will learn what mistakes companies made that led to data breaches and what to look for in your own network architectures that might be leaving you open for exploitation. The discussion will walk you through new findings, new trends, and updated recommendations. The speaker will offer specific recommendations on how your organization can proactively defend against new and old cyber threats.
